Yes folks, Gilbert Arenas (0.36) did return yesterday, scoring 15 points and dishing 10 assists against the Pistons. He was also 3-12 from the field, so some rust still needs to be shaken off his game. If you are one of the poor unlucky bastards who have been sitting on Arenas all year hoping for his return, be aware that he doesn’t plan on playing in back-to-back games the rest of the season, which basically means he won’t be playing today or next week against Cleveland.

Line of the Night: Gerald Wallace (1.4). I’m not going to go back and count, but I’ve seen Wallace bring home the fantasy line on multiple occasions. Yesterday against the Knicks, Wallace had a 23/9/8 line with 2 steals and 3 blocks. Wallace now sits at #16 on both our 8 and 9 cat raters and he says he owes the improvement in his game to listening to the advice of Larry Brown.
Honorable Mentions: Danny Granger (1.11) had the only other game score that surpassed 1, so his 32 points, 4 threes and 3 steals is worth mentioning. Of course, he’s Danny Granger, so everything he does is worth mentioning. Especially from February 18th, that was a good day.
Waiver Wire Line of the Night: I’m really getting sick of Tyrus Thomas (0.98) showing up on here . Yes, he’s been great in 6 of the Bulls last 7 games, averaging 15 points, 10 rebounds, and 2.6 blocks over that span. Congrats if you picked him up at the beginning of the run – he’s definitely paid off – but I don’t see how it lasts the rest of the year with his inconsistency.
Brandon Rush (0.97) hit 13-19 shots and scored a career-high 29 points for the Pacers. He’s now started the Pacers last three games and looks to be a good add if you’re in need a shooting guard type.
The Biggest Loser: Maybe Raymond Felton (-0.91) needs to listen more to the advice of Larry Brown. Yesterday, Felton was 3-17 (seventeen shots when you’re shot is clearly not falling!) scoring 6 points with 6 turnovers.
…Seventeen shots!
All Eyez on Me: Dallas (43-29) at Cleveland (59-13). An encore performance from Jose Juan Barea? Only if Jason Kidd misses his second straight game with a lower back injury. And congrats to Josh Howard for being day-to-day for the last month. Way to ruin any shot my Monster League team had of making the playoffs.
San Antonio (48-24) at New Orleans (44-27) – Since I generally lack anything coherent to say after 153 days of doing this thing, lets turn to a couple people who know what they’re talking about. At the Hive breaks down the decline of “Small Game” James Posey and whether he can turn it around for the Hornets like he did for Boston last year, and Pounding the Rock takes at look at the state of the Spurs down the stretch.
