Line of the Night: Dwight Howard (1.51) is going to get that 2nd seed in the East, even if he was to grab every rebound in the greater Atlanta area to get it done. Yesterday against the Hawks, Howard finished with 21 points, 23 boards, 3 steals and 4 blocks. He even showed off from the free throw line, going 9-12. Howard now has nine 20-20 games this season and gets my vote for first center off the board next season. Over Amare? Yes.

Honorable Mentions: J.R. Smith (1.28) has been all over the GMTR rundown lately. Yesterday, he scored 24 points and hit 7 threes. Hopefully the man is doing good FOR your fantasy playoff team rather than against you; and Andrea Bargnani (1.01) had 23 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks as the Raptors kept their slim playoff chances alive and eliminated the Knicks from the playoffs (nice 2-for-1 action right there).

Waiver Wire Line of the Night: Down the list at number 16 on the day we find DeAndre Jordan (0.55), who scored 21 points with 8 rebounds and 2 blocks in 25 minutes off the bench for the Clippers. Jordan was filling in for Marcus Camby and Chris Kaman, both of whom missed the game (surprised?). Jordan hasn’t played much of all this year and is only owned in 2% of leagues, so I’d guess this game is not an indication of things to come.

The Biggest Loser: Credit to Vince Carter (-0.43) for playing though an injury (sore left Achilles tendon), but not so much if he’s going to play like this: 4 points on 2-10 shooting, 2 rebounds and 2 assists in 28 minutes on the court. Carter should play today when the Nets face off against the 76ers, although we’ll see if that’s a good thing or not.

All Eyez on Me: San Antonio (49-26) at Cleveland (61-15) – Possible NBA finals preview? If the Cavs hope to bounce back from an embarrassing 116-87 loss to the Magic, then they are going to need to get better games from… everyone. Especially the mysteriously hot and cold Delonte West, who had 5 points and 0 assists in that last game.

Phoenix (42-34) at Dallas (45-31) – The race for the final playoff spot in the west, which the Suns basically have to win to have a reasonable chance at making the playoffs. Mavs Moneyball has a nice wrap-up of the kinda sad state of the Mavs.

The Golden Ticket: Golden State (27-49) at Sacramento (16-59) – If their last game against Phoenix is any indication, then Francisco Garcia, Spencer Hawes, Jason Thompson, and Rashad McCants of all people are in for very nice games. Kevin Martin sat out of the game with a sore left ankle – and if his history is any indication – will probably be out for the rest of the season.

Ah yes, I love it! Dwight allows me to finally say the "I told you so" that I've been waiting to say all season.

Doh! I forgot to log in Intense Debate. Anyway, 4th pick is a bit high. Personally I have him at around the 6-8 range with the caveat that the drafter intends to commit to the big ball game. With Dwight, how hard can it be to make a big ball team anyway.

Thanks Dwight, for making me look like a fantasy genius!

When I first read your comment, I read the word basketball instead of baseball. You had me worried there for a second…

While I do play a little fantasy baseball, it is a decidedly casual pursuit as compared to my fantasy basketball addiction. I don't read all too much about fantasy baseball, but the few things I do read are from Baseball Prospectus and the Hardball Times, although I'm not sure you'd classify either as a blog. Maybe others have some recommendations?

I actually kind of thought the same thing, Patrick, and I was like, is this a spam comment? But then I realized it was DNYL who's commented enough that I recognize the handle.

DNYL: I'm afraid I can't help you either. I played fantasy baseball once and much like the sport itself, I just wasn't that into it.

Baseball blog: I'd recommend razzball.com / fantasybaseballcafe.com for blogs/ forums in the first instance. Rotoworld also has a good forum and great info.

I had Dwight in a H2H league, this year, couldn't quite ride him into the finals this week, but pushed the no.1 team in the league all the way. He was a great first round pick this year imo…
