Line of the Night: Not. Even. Close. Chris Paul (1.55) utterly dominated all other stat lines by scoring 42 points on 14-25 shooting, 3-6 from three, 9 rebounds, 7 assists, and 2 steals. But it appears that the “let Chris Paul get his shot off” strategy that other teams have been employing recently actually works, as the Hornets lost to the Mavs 100-92. David West was the only other Hornet with 10 or more points (Peja Stojakovic (-0.14) was third on the team with 9).

Honorable Mentions: The Indiana/Atlanta game was like a jelly donut – crusty on the outside, but full of sweet fantasy goodness on the inside: Joe Johnson (0.99) finished the game 5-8 from three and with 24 points; Danny Granger (0.99) scored 35 points and hit 4 threes; and Al Horford (0.94) went for 22 and 15 while making 8 of the 12 shots he took.

Waiver Wire Line of the Night: Anyone still working free agency at this point in the season? If so, you deserve some kind of fantasy basketball award for achievement in being hardcore. For those of you still with an eye on the free agents – Don Nelson wanted to give the young guys a chance to play and, at 23 years old, Anthony Morrow (0.79) qualifies. Morrow is also one of the only healthy Warriors left standing. With injuries to Monta Ellis, Jamal Crawford, Stephen Jackson, and Corey Maggette, Morrow started and got 45 minutes for Golden State, scoring 16 points off 4-14 shooting, adding a couple threes and the all-important defense (3 steals and 2 blocks). Not a gangbusters performance, but it wasn’t that kind of night.

And how can we forget about Dikembe Mutombo (0.47)? Mutombo, starting in place of Yao Ming, scored what I’m going to assume is a career-high 10 points, but more importantly grabbed 15 boards and blocked 4 shots. Good to see the old man can still get it done.

Rockets Warriors Basketball

The Biggest Loser: Devin Harris (-0.66) only made it though about half of the Nets/Pistons game before leaving in the third quarter with a sore shoulder. His stats sure look like he was in a lot of pain: 0-5 from the floor, 1 point and 2 assists in 21 minutes.

All Eyez on Me: Phoenix (43-36) at Minnesota (24-55) – Jason Richardson, on the importance of finishing out the regular season, “These games really aren’t meaning anything for us, even though we want to win them, just let (the reserves) go out and get some minutes.”

Charlotte (35-44) at Chicago (39-40) – Tyrus Thomas – by going on a tear in the months of March and April – is officially making a mess for everyone next year. Mark my words, Thomas is going to pop up on everyone’s sleeper list next season because they’ll look back and see that he averaged 15.5 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 2.6 blocks since March 18th. But before you draft him, remember what he did with the other 4 and a half months.

The Golden Ticket: Golden State (28-51) at Utah (47-32) – The Warriors only have 7 healthy players at the moment, so expect to see a lot of C.J. Watson, Anthony Morrow, Anthony Randolph, and a lot of points up on the board.
