Line of the Night: Manu Ginobili (1.81). Both Tony Parker and Tim Duncan sat in this game (and are day-to-day with injuries), so who else but Ginobili to the rescue? Despite the Spurs being short a couple superstars, Manu still came off the bench (Popovich really, really wanted to start Keith Bogans I guess) and carried the Spurs to a win over Toronto with 36 points in 32 minutes adding 6 threes, 8 assists and 4 blocks.

    Manu Ginobili 2008
You got to be happy with what Manu is doing for your fantasy team right now

Honorable Mentions: 29 points and 8 boards for Jason Richardson (1.01), who also hit 6-8 threes; Chris Paul (0.97) only had 25 points and 10 assists, but then again he only played 25 minutes because the Hornets destroyed the Clippers 112-84; the Warriors exploded for 146 points against the Wolves, but Stephen Jackson (0.9) was a miserable 2-8 from the floor for 10 points. Instead, he propped up his lack of scoring with 15 assists and 4 steals; and Anthony Randolph (0.88) owners can breathe for today at least. With Biedrins, Turiaf and Wright out, Randolph still same off the bench (Steven Jackson was the team’s PF) but had a 23 and 7 with 3 blocks in 30 minutes.

Waiver Wire Line of the Night: Devin Brown (0.97), who is owned a whopping 1% of Yahoo leagues, got his second start for the Hornets and finished with 5 threes and 25 points in 30 minutes of play. It must make CP3 physically sick to his stomach that the Hornets really have no one else to play at SG than Devin Brown, Bobby Brown, or Mo Peterson. Is Devin Brown worth picking up in the average fantasy league? Ah, no. He’ll be starting for now, but he’s a career 40% shooter from the field with a 7 PPG career average.

No, the real deal for a free agent pickup is Kelenna Azubuike (0.84), who dropped in 31 points with 3 threes in GSW’s 146-105 win over the Wolves. While Don Nelson’s rotations change like the wind, Azubuike is currently starting, getting good minutes and is available in over 60% of leagues at the moment.

The Biggest Loser: What the hell happened to Paul Millsap (-0.63)? Oh, right, Boozer happened. It’s going to be a lot more of the same for Millsap – who had 4 points and 5 rebounds in 24 minutes off the bench against the Knicks – as long as Boozer is healthy and still with the Jazz.

    All Eyez on Me:

Houston (4-2) at Dallas (4-2) – Your interstate Texas matchup of the day. Josh Howard returned for the Mavs is weekend and scored 16 points in 24 minutes, so it’s probably time to get him back in your lineup if you own him. And keep an eye on Carl Landry to see if he can come close to repeating his 21 point, 9 rebound performance from the Rocket’s last game.

Orlando (5-2) at Charlotte (3-3) – Ryan Anderson is definitely out for this game and Vince Carter is… eh, who are we kidding, definitely out for this game. And the Bobcats, well, it’s already time to think about next season.

This is the just the kind of antidote the Spurs needed after the defeat against the Blazers. Much suprisingly without the service of Tim Duncan and Tony Parker. The whole team pull things together to grind out this result.

Happy to see George Hill doing a great job in taking over from Parker. Finally we get to another good reason why RJ is here. Special thanks to both Dice and the rookie Blair for the help they provided in defense.

With this performance, there must a whole lot of confidence going on in the locker room. Let's hope another repeat against the Mavs on Wednesday.

As for Manu….(you may check out my post on Mundo)

Well I must admit that I never thought that this kind of performance from him ever again. I guess my main reason must be based on the fact his body might not be able to take it (when you wear & tear in consideration) after these years of aggresive and hustling game that we're all very much used to see it from him.

Then again, you can't change a person habit that easily. Manu does what he does best and not even another pain from his body will stop him from doing so. And that's why we love him so much, don't we.

      THE LEGEND CONTINUES….

Many thanks for the comment/recap on the Spurs. As a Spurs fan (I assume), are you worried about Duncan at all? Not his current injury which seems minor, but his overall ability to make it through the year and playoffs while still playing effectively?

Manu is literally one of the most under rated players in the NBA. He has skill and most importantly he has class. He is a good role model for children IMO. Just last night he had an amazing block on Kevin Durant http://sportsremix.net/sports-news/ginobilis-bl
