Yeah, my wife likes the documentaries. I usually don't _want_ to see them, but then I end up liking them when I do. I was worried that King of Kong would piss me off because I heard how nice the challenger guy was and what an a-hole the champion was. It was true, but to the extreme that I thought it would be.

And as for autobiography, I assume you mean you're the guy who runs around telling people there's going to be a Donkey Kong kill screen.

Wow, you surprised me there Nels. I would have pegged you for Wolverine, Tropic Thunder and The King of Kong.

I actually liked The King of Kong quite a bit, maybe because it's basically an autobiography of my life. Nice to see my psyche so perfectly captured.

Well, both Wolverine and the Maltese Falcon were my picks. I like the old movies… though I much prefer Hitchcock.

Val actually kind of liked Wolverine. I think it's because comics are basically like soap operas for boys (or men). Not that she actually watches soap operas (unless you count Gossip Girl and Top Model), but I think the basic idea is somehow programmed into the female psyche.

6 movies. that's nuts. I did watch the godfather triology in college one day which is like 4.5 or 5 movies worth of time. That was great, but I should have just stopped after II.

Wow, never has the rift between husband and wife been so large as that list of those 6 movies. Although I do hear Hugh Jackman is this generations Humphrey Bogart. Ok, I've never heard that.

Oh, to follow up: All of the movies were good for what they were. I wouldn't say any of them were must-see movies, but they were all decent representations of their genres.

I realized about an hour after I'd published the post that I should have somehow worked clues to the movies into the post... I did that with one of them, but it didn't occur to me to do the rest...

Anyway... 3 of them were my picks and 3 were my wife's:

6 movies? Wow, that actually does sound like a lot of work. I'd probably be wiped after 3. Would you care to share with us what 6 movies you watched? What does the Nels' Netflix queue look like?

Amare? Short answer: No.

Longer Answer: No, at least if you're expecting the 2007-08 version of Amar'e. I'd guess his rebounding numbers increase back to his career levels, but his scoring will probably never reach 25 points a game again. Back in 07-08, D'Antoni ran the Suns offense through Amar'e, resulting in 15 shots a game for the big guy. Now with Alvin Gentry, the ball is being spread around more and Amar'e is taking a near career low 12.7 shots a game. I don't expect that to increase all that much either.
