Line of the Night: The season was high last night for LeBron James (1.78) with his 44 points (5 threes), 7 rebounds, 6 assists, and 4 steals. He was back to his old 70% from the line deal, but he also only turned the ball over once, and in basketball, they say, you can’t win ‘em all.
Honorable Mentions: Joe Johnson (1.47) had 21 points and 10 assists.
Waiver Wire Line of the Night: Maurice “Mo” Evans (1.02) got to start for the Hawks and played 34 minutes because Marvin Williams had an upset stomach. The way that Evans played, though, I’m not sure that Pepto Bismol is going to help Williams out. Evans had 22 points on 4 threes, with 9 rebounds. That’s better than any line that Williams has put up in almost a month. Might be time for the Hawks to rethink things a little. Of course, they were playing the Nets, so wait to see what happens in their next game before you go swapping Evans in for Williams.
The Biggest Loser: The night after Tyson Chandler eclipsed the -1.0 mark, Trevor Ariza came pretty close himself with his -0.98. Ariza came dangerously close to an egg carton (the term I just invented for a whole log of 0’s). He had 1 point thanks to 1-2 free throws, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, and 4 turnovers. I bet without the turnovers, he could have dug his way out of his Biggest Loser hole. But man… at least he’s still averaging 17 points (2 threes), 5 rebounds, and 3 assists for the season.
Since I’m posting this so late I’m going to skip the other usual stuff and instead give you a special photoshop gift:
Okay, that was pretty weak. I’m sorry. Please come back tomorrow for something much less weak.
