Line of the Night: Tim Duncan (1.15) proved (once again) that being on or playing against a fast-paced team can make all the difference in fantasy basketball. Phoenix pushed the pace of their game against the Spurs to 116 points. While Phoenix’s Possession’s Per Game aren’t at an all time high (only 95 per game), that’s 4 more than San Antonio’s average of 91. The Spurs outscored their season average of 100 points per game with 104, with Timmy D carrying most of the load with 34. He also had 14 rebounds and 3 blocks, and shot an astonishing (for him) 85.7% from the free throw line.

You thought I was going with Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, didn’t you?

Honorable Mentions: Michael Beasley (0.91) had 28 and 11, making all 6 of his free throws, and adding an assist, a steal, and a block. He may yet be the Next Shawn Marion. Especially since Marion himself doesn’t really look like he’s ever going to reclaim the title.

Joakim Noah (0.85) had a helluva game against the defending World Champion Lakers with his 11 points, 20 rebounds, 2 steals, and 6 blocks. Too bad he was 4/16 from the field, and the entire team forgot how to shoot in the 4th quarter or they might have won. Instead, they just proved to everyone in Chicago that they can play with the best in the league when they play the best in the league. Otherwise, they just play down to teams like the Nets and go ahead and lose to them because they don’t think they can. Can’t wait to see what they do against the Knicks tomorrow… I’ll be at that game.

Steve Nash (0.59) had some fun times running against the lead-footed Spurs, racking up 25 points and 13 assists. His running mate Amare Apostrophe In There Somewhere Stoudemire (0.56) had 28 and 14.

Brook Lopez (0.55) continued to dominate the weak-ass Eastern Conference centers with 22 points and 15 rebounds. They say he’s only 7-0, but they’re either lying about that, or lying about Joakim Noah being 6-11, because Lopez looked like he was Towering over Noah when I watched them in person. The game where the Bulls lost to the Nets. The second game the Nets won in (now) 25 games. Yeah. That’s the one.

Tracy McGrady Comeback of the Night: Tracy McGrady (-0.43) wasn’t the Biggest Loser in his return for the Rockets, but he certainly wasn’t the Biggest Winner either (although, the Rockets did win). McGrady played only 8 minutes, scored three points on one made three-pointer, missed both of his free throw attempts, and got 3 rebounds. So… he’s back… no exclamation point.

Waiver Wire Line of the Night: Yes, I waited this long to mention that Jared Jeffries (0.95) had the Second Best Line of the Night last night. Jeffries defense propelled him to the – almost – top… he had 6 steals and 2 blocks, and not much else to remark on.

As such, I can also recommend picking up Dorrell Wright (0.67) as a temporary GF fill-in while Quentin Richardson is out. Wright had another 16 point game, adding 8 rebounds, a three, a block, and a steal.

The Biggest Loser: I’m thinking it might be time to give up on Spencer Hawes (-0.50) everybody (or at least, the 3/4ths of you who still have him on your team. Okay, okay. He’s not that bad. He is averaging 11 and 6 with 1 block for the season, but last night he dropped a 4 point, 2 rebound, 2 turnover stinkbomb in the middle of the Rose Garden.

All Eyez On Me: Dallas @ Oklahoma City interests me the most since I’m loving the kids they got over there in OKC (going against the old guys they glued together in Dallas).

Houston @ Denver will be another interesting one as we watch the return of Tracy McGrady.

The Golden Ticket: San Antonio may find a Sixth Golden Ticket tonight against Golden State. Either that, or they’ll be too tired out from playing Phoenix that they’ll all be Biggest Losers. New York doesn’t play till tomorrow, though, so that’s the best you’ve got for tonight.
