Line of the Night: You may think the headline refers to Gerald Wallace (1.41) and his 29 point, 12 rebound, 2 steal, 4 block performance in which he shot 55% from the floor and 83% from the line, making 4 threes in addition to all that. If you are a Gerald Wallace owner, then you may be satisfied with that and stop reading now.

Honorable Mentions: Zach Randolph (0.97) had another big game with 33 and 18, while Troy Murphy (0.93) had 24 and 18. Blah de blah blah blah.

Oh, what’s this?

Waiver Wire Line of the Night: Chris Hunter (0.84) is owned in 0% of leagues. Okay, that’s actually not true, because I just picked him up in 2 leagues. But, that means he might still be available in one of the GMTR Readers’ leagues. Why did I pick him up? Because a) the Warriors (for whom he plays) don’t exactly have a lot of big men to start with, b) Andris Biedrins is still out, c) Mikki Moore just had ankle surgery which puts him out an estimated 3 months, d) Brandan Wright is still not back, d) Ronny Turiaf is also still out, e) Vladimir Radmanovic is Vladimir Radmanovic, and f) 31 minutes, 14 points, 6 rebounds, 3 steals, and 3 blocks. When I look back, I admit, I fear I might be waaaaaaaaay, waaaaaaay overhyping this, but, folks, THIS is the moment you’ve all been waiting for. If you have an expendable spot, use it. Especially in a keeper league.

Even better, though, is that this is the first result in a Google Image search for Hunter:

I was kind of hoping it would be one these guys, but I’ll take what Google gives me.

The Biggest Loser: Boris Diaw (-0.61) is still hanging around in 69% of leagues, and still playing 42 minutes for the Bobcats. In those 42 minutes last night he crapped out 8 points (though he was 4-8), 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 4 turnovers, while going 0-2 from the line.

Oh, How The Great Have Fallen: Shawn “Former #1 Fantasy Pick” Marion (-0.60) was hanging out with Boris Diaw last night, and I’m honestly not sure how he beat him out for the last spot, other than the Tried and True: Player Raters love the defense. Marion had 0 points on 0-7 shooting, grabbed 6 rebounds, and blocked 1 shot, while turning the ball over twice in 25 minutes.

All Eyez On Me: Atlanta (20-7) in Denver (19-9) should be a baller-fest of fairly epic proportions.

Also, Cleveland is in Sacramento, and while I shouldn’t speak ill of the Comeback Kings, I Gotta Feeling that LeBron might have a Line of the Night worthy performance.

Portland (18-12) at San Antonio (15-10) will also be interesting because a) Portland has already played 5 more games (how does that happen?), and b) Joel Pryzbilla is out indefinitely with a ruptured right patella tendon. The Blazers front line is starting to look about as anemic as the Bulls. How much are they wishing they had Paul Millsap now? And also, did someone bury a jersey under the arena grounds? Because Memorial Coliseum was very close to the Rose Garden, so it wouldn’t have been that hard to curse all the big men Portland will ever have by putting a jersey somewhere in that vicinity. (I’m thinking, like a Kareem Abdul-Jabbar jersey or something?)

The Golden Ticket: Oklahoma City is in Phoenix tonight, so there might be some fast-paced action there. Golden State rolls into NOLA, but the only thing that means to be is we get to see if Chris Hunter is Fo Real.

Joel might have saved Nate McMillan's job. And what good is getting rid of the IL when the NBA has to grant hardship exemptions to the Blazers so they can field a team. Note I did not say “competitive” but simply a team that can reasonably finish the season. Yesterday was a gutty, big win, but it's December and we have no center. Let's get David Lee from my Knicks! On second thought…no.
