Line of the Night: Welcome back Brandon Roy (1.3). Roy, who was wearing a brace to protect the shoulder he injured in a game against Dallas on the 22nd, dropped 41 points on Denver. He ended the game 16-26 from the field, adding 6 rebounds 4 assists and 3 threes. Both Blazers fans and Roy owners can breathe easy… for now.

Honorable Mentions: The Suns blew out the Clippers on Christmas Day and Amar’e Stoudemire (1.0) helped himself to 26 points (on 10-15 shooting) and 9 boards in the win; Dwyane Wade (1.0) tied Amar’e with the second best score of the night with 30 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals in a win over the Knickerbockers; and Mo Williams (0.95) dodged water bottles thrown by Lakers’ fans to lead the Cavs to a win by scoring 28 points and adding 6 rebounds and 7 assists.

Waiver Wire Line of the Night: If there is anything that Rasual Butler (0.89) knows, it’s how to go on the very occasional scoring binge. Butler’s 22 points on 9-16 shooting is not totally out of character for him, but the 7 rebounds almost certainly is. Butler got the start at SF for the first time since December 2nd, but if history is any indication, it is not the start of any trend.

The Biggest Loser: Welcome to the big boys table Jerryd Bayless (-0.45). Bayless followed up his amazing 31 point performance on the 23rd with a 2-10 shooting night, finishing with 8 points and 1 rebound. He did have 7 assists and only 1 turnover, so it wasn’t a complete disaster. With Roy back in the lineup for now, Bayless will return to backup duties and looks like a much less interesting free agent pick up.

All Eyez on Me: A full slate of post-Christmas games today. So, provided you’re not out shopping to return all those crappy gifts you don’t want, check out:

Phoenix (19-11) at Golden State (7-21) – The pace of this game should be off the charts and makes everyone involved a fantasy friendly play. That includes Leandro Barbosa, who rejoined the Suns for yesterday’s game after missing 12 with a sprained ankle. He came off the bench in that game and scored 12 points in 21 minutes.

Los Angeles (23-5) at Sacramento (13-15) – the Lakers look to bounce back from a loss to the Cavs where they shot 37% as a team. Kobe Bryant led the way with a poor 11-32 shooting night. But overall, Kobe has been surprisingly accurate despite his finger injury, shooting over 50% from the floor in 3 of the Lakers last 6 games. And it may be a day late, but may I recommend this from Sactown Royalty.

Memphis (13-15) at Dallas (20-9) – the Von Wafer to Memphis deal appears to be off due to some pre-existing injuries. Or maybe it is that Memphis now has their sights on a player who comes with a better set of intangibles.
