Since only 17 NBA Players saw action (professional basketball playing action) last night, that means all of them made the Top 20. I’m sure D-Stern wished there was a little more going on to distract from certain events that made the national news, but the schedule is what it is.

Also, why does the media always wonder why the NBA is portrayed poorly in the media? Maybe it’s because Diane Sawyer only talks about the NBA when someone in the NBA pulls a gun. I guess that’s just the way the news is… I mean, you can’t make the local news unless you crash a plan, shoot someone, kidnap a kid, or hit someone with a car. I guess I should be happy that the NBA shows up on the evening news so infrequently considering everything on is a disaster of varying proportions.

Line of the Night: Wilson Chandler (0.68) was the best of the 17 players balling it up in the pick-up game played in Rucker Park. Chandler had 27 points (1 three), 7 rebounds, and 6 assists.

Honorable Mentions: Danilo Gallinari (0.40) added another 5 threes to his season total, adding 6 rebounds, 3 assists, a steal and a block.

Waiver Wire Line of the Night: Ronald “Flip” Murray (0.39) has now had 2 good games in a row, and if he puts up another 20+ points, I say get on that bandwagon. I’m not sure where his minutes are really coming from since none of the Bobcats starters are injured (in fact, they’re playing huge minutes), but Flip Mode has always been capable of putting up points in bunches.

The Biggest Loser: Nate Robinson (-0.48) made up for his 7 turnovers in 19 minutes with… Oh, sorry… Let’s try this: Nate Robinson (-0.48) capitalized on his 19 minutes on the court by turning the ball over once every 3 minutes. Good? Howzabout: Two games after putting up 41 points, Nate Robinson (-0.48) put up another big number. This time it was 7 turnovers. Nate is great!

All Eyez On Me: Y’all like some basketball? Tonight is some good goings-on.

Boston (25-8) @ Atlanta (22-12) should be a good one. Boston’s still got some guys sitting (mostly Kevin Garnett), but they beat Miami shorthanded, so let’s see what else they got.

Cleveland (28-9) @ Denver (22-13) in a not-quite-potential NBA Finals matchup. Lakers (28-7) @ Portland (22-15) in an actual-potential Western Conference Finals match up.

The Golden Ticket: I’m no prognosticator, but I’m leaning towards Sacramento @ Golden State for the LotN tonight, mostly because of the utter lack of defense both teams employ so skillfully, you’d think it was part of their strategy.

Finally, Friday’s Tiny Dancer: I just came up with a pretty awesome NYC Dancer pic a few days ago, so this might be tough… but here goes…

Always good to see my Knicks City Dancers on the blog. They are the best. My pics of them aren't nearly as good, but then the wife wouldn't consider those shots as "artistic" as my other game shots. But I have a couple.

Also, Wilson Chandler belongs in the pantheon of athletes whose name works backwards and forwards, like Henry Travis, Ward Hines, and Jack Jarrett.
  • Nice! I don't think I've ever sat close enough to get pics like that.

I always remember the advice of my coach at basketball camp in 5th grade: Never trust someone with two first names. I think we had someone on our team name Charles Connor or something. It was a joke, but you can see it had a profound effect on me.
