Oh, okay... so you didn't look at entire NBA rosters, just those who cracked the top 156. I guess as I re-read the post, that is pretty clear. I'm not sure what I was reading the first time through. Thanks for clarifying.

We took the Top 156 players from the GMTR Player Rater. 12 teams x 13 players per team = 156 players. So, anyone outside of the Top 156 shouldn't be on a team. Yes, there are some holes in that theory/assumption, but really, adding players outside of the Top 156 doesn't make that much of a difference in where teams end up, and especially not for the best and worst teams.

How deep on each team's roster did you go when running this analysis? Obviously, it would make more sense to only include actual rotation players (usally the top 9-10 guys per team) than to include everyone that rides the pine or alternates back-and-forth between the D-League. Just curious?

The Spurs are actually closer to the top (but mostly in the middle). I also actually guessed the Spurs (also without looking at the #s). I think because the guys they do have are very efficient with their time on the floor, they get it done even with the slow pace.

The Bucks are a lot closer to the bottom. Now that Michael Redd is out, they might actually end up the season as the worst team. They already charted only 4 players, which was tied for second worst. Of course, Redd was actually kind of low on the rater at the time I pulled the stats, so taking him off might actually raise their average.
