Line of the Night: Hedo Turkoglu (1.03) took advantage of the New York Knicks fast-paced game to score 26 points (3 threes), grab 11 rebounds, along with 2 steals and a block. He was 8-16 from the field and made 7-9 free throws.

Honorable Mentions: David Lee (0.88) has been using the Knicks all season to put up All Star caliber numbers (at least if we judge him against Al Horford’s “All Star numbers” – nothing personal – I like Al Horford – but who picked him over Lee?).

Waiver Wire Line of the Night: Dudley Do Right: Jared Dudley (0.31) somehow came up with the 11th best line last night… 8 points (1 three), 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals. His %’s were all that great either, so I have to think that Basketball Monster is miscalculating somewhere along the line. Whatever the case, that’s 2 “good” games in a row for Dudley.

The Biggest Loser: Vince “Vincenzo” Carter (-0.77) is obviously still recovering from his shoulder injury, but he did play 29 minutes last night, so he needs to be producing at least a little more if he wants to avoid ridicule, from his fantasy owners and his All Star teammates. VC had 6 points on 2-13 shooting, and got bailed out by Rashard Lewis for the win.

All Eyez On Me: Boston (29-14) vs. Atlanta (29-15). The Up-And-Comers vs. the Slowly-Wilting-Flowers. Denver (31-14) vs. OKC (24-21) will probably have some good fantasy performances – if Kevin Durant and Chauncey Billups have anything to say about it.

The Golden Ticket: Charlotte is the team at Golden State tonight, but the Bobcats are a very slow team (really, you think Larry Brown likes it slow?), so I’m not exactly sure how it’ll play out.

No error in calculation from BM. Dudley's line was the 11th best of the night. Keep in mind that the nightly values we calculate are based upon the player performances from that night ONLY. Thus, if the rest of the league had an off night it is entirely possible for a player with an efficient but unspectacular line to rate highly. If you look at Dudley's player profile and scroll down to the game log, you will see that in the broader context of the league as a whole (i.e. Dudley's January 28th performance versus the averages of all players over the entire season) the value he generated that night was only +0.17 versus the +0.31 you see when looking at the night of the 28th only. Hope that helps explain how the program calculates nightly values.

I do appreciate that any time I try to say something might be wrong over at BM, you guys are quick to jump all over it. Don't worry – I would never speak ill of BM except in joking (in this case, perhaps it wasn't clear enough that I was being sarcastic).
