Line of the Night: WTF? Andre Miller (1.27) – yes THAT Andre Miller – scored a career high 52 points in an overtime game against the Mavs. Miller, who had scored a combined 15 points in the 3 games prior to this one, just kept shooting and not missing. He finished this game 22-31 from the field in 42 minutes on the court.

Trail Blazers Mavericks Basketball

Honorable Mentions: It wasn’t quite 52, but Gerald Wallace (1.21) threw up 38 points against the Kings, adding 11 rebounds with a couple steals and blocks; Marc Gasol (1.04) used an overtime game against the Hornets to pull down a 25/16 double-double with a couple of blocks; and Mike Miller (1.03) finished with a season-high 25 points, adding 9 rebounds, 8 assists and 7 threes in a Wizards win over the Knicks.

Waiver Wire Line of the Night: Quentin Richardson (0.6) got a good 36 minutes in a start at forward for the Heat (helped by the fact that Michael Beasley missed this game with a hyperextended right knee) and was 6-10 from the floor, scoring 16 points with 3 threes. Even with Beasley out, the Heat usually run too deep to make Richardson a worthwhile pickup.

With Chris Paul sitting in this game because of a bruised knee, Darren Collison (0.52) got the start and certainly made the most of it with 17 points and 18 assists in New Orleans overtime win. Paul is considered day-to-day and the injury doesn’t sound serious, so Collison’s value will most like be short-lived.

The Biggest Loser: An all-around bad game for Al Horford (-0.41) against Dwight Howard and the Magic. Alright, he was manhandled Dwight. Horford scored 4 points on 2-7 shooting in this one, adding 4 rebounds and a steal in 29 minutes.

All Eyez on Me:

Los Angeles (36-11) at Boston (29-15) – NBA finals preview? Not the way Boston is going; they are 6-10 since Christmas and were just swept in their season series against the Atlanta Hawks. CelticsBlog breaks down what went wrong for the Celtics against the Hawks this season and (spoiler alert) the turnovers and rebounding issues are ones that will seriously hurt them come playoff time.

Phoenix (27-21) at Houston (25-21) – Guy to watch in this one: Goran Dragic, who has scored in double-digits each of the Suns last four games. With the injury to Leandro Barbosa, Dragic is worth the add as long as he can consistently put up 20+ minutes a game (although he only got 16 last game).

Golden State (13-32) at Oklahoma City (25-21) – What can Kevin Durant do against the Warriors? Well, he is almost certainly going to be better than the 28 points on 9-24 shooting he put up last time these teams met. Jeff Green had a great double-double in that game and should be able to take advantage of the small Warriors frontcourt again.

Nowadays, everybody wants to talk like they got something to say, but nothing comes out when they move they lips – just a bunch of gibberish – and sumpinfuthers act like they forgot about Dre.

That was a crazy game. And after Chuck ripped DIrk a new one on Thursday for taking only one shot in the 4th quarter against Phoenix, he got the ball early and often. But he missed game winners at the end of regulation and in OT. Now, Batum's long wings were right up his nose, but every shot was a fallaway jumper. When you shoot FTs that well, you need to put the ball on the floor and go for it.

Also, a telling comment from Mike and Mike during the broadcast. Down two on their penultimate possession in regulation, the Blazers have 4 guards and LaMarcus in off the time out. Dirk comes off the floor for Barea. They run down the choices for the shot: Miller (duh), Bayless can drive and kick to Blake, Rudy can take a long open 3. They never even mentioned LaMarcus as an option.

Yeah, it looked like Dirk was taking some pretty weak shots at the end (I watched the highlights).

What is that telling comment supposed to be telling us? That the Blazers don't trust LaMarcus? Or that Mike and Mike don't like him?

The broadcasters are pretty pro-LA in general, which is why it was odd to me that they had forgotten all about him. But lately, he's been a first-half stud and invisible in the fourth quarter. Right now, I don't think Nate feels he's the go-to guy with Roy out. The missed free throws recently may have something to do with it, too. At the Hornets game last Monday, Bayless clearly was chosen for the final shot. And though LA got the shot to end regulation against Dallas, the play wasn't drawn up to go to him.
