Day 97 of 170: The Golden State Midas turns Kevin Durant to Gold

Line of the Night: Kevin Durant (1.57) can probably hang 45 points on any team, but when he does it shooting 76% from the floor, well, that’s Golden State for you. Durant also had 11 rebounds, 2 steals, and was 11-11 from the line.

Honorable Mentions: Chris Bosh (1.11) powered the Raptors to their fifth straight win with 26 points, 11 rebounds, and 7 assists. So if the Raptors keep winning, does that mean Bosh is going to stay?

Chauncey Billups (0.90) had 25 points, 6 rebounds (nice for a PG!), 11 assists, and 2 steals.

Amar’e Stoudemire (0.83) came through with 36 points, 11 rebounds, and 2 blocks in an over time win for Phoenix. If those guys start winning and Stoudemire wants to stay, I’m not sure what a lot of teams are going to do this summer. I’m not as worried about that, though.

Waiver Wire Line of the Night: Jared Jeffries (0.86) only had 14 points, but filled in his line with 3 threes, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal, and 3 blocks. Jeffries is only owned in an estimate 5% of leagues, so if he’s available, now seems like a good time to bring him aboard. He played 48 minutes in the game before this one, and got 39 minutes in this one.

Add: Darren Collison (NO – PG,SG)
Drop: Delonte West (INJ) (Cle – PG,SG)

Add: Ryan Hollins (Min – PF,C)
Drop: Rasual Butler (LAC – SG,SF)

Add: Chris Duhon (NY – PG)
Drop: Luke Ridnour (Mil – PG)

Add: Taj Gibson (Chi – SF,PF)
Drop: Richard Jefferson (SA – SF)

Add: Darren Collison (NO – PG,SG)
Drop: Ben Wallace (Det – PF,C)

Add: Shane Battier (Hou – SF)
Drop: Robin Lopez (Pho – PF,C)

Add: Nicolas Batum (Por – SG,SF)
Drop: Martell Webster (Por – SG,SF)

Add: Darren Collison (NO – PG,SG)
Drop: Courtney Lee (NJ – SG,SF)

Add: Corey Brewer (Min – SG,SF)
Drop: Yi Jianlian (NJ – PF)

Add: Shaquille O’Neal (Cle – C)
Drop: Beno Udrih (Sac – PG,SG)

I bolded the ones that I feel are the most important to pay attention to.

The Biggest Loser: If you hadn’t noticed, Darren Collison was picked up in every league I’m in. That’s because Chris Paul will be out for an estimated 4-6 weeks after the Bulls took him out on Friday. Good thing the Saints are in the Super Bowl or New Orleans fans might have a very sad start to the Mardi Party.

The real Biggest Loser from last night, though, was Ben Gordon (-0.71), who went 2-11 from the field, scoring 5 points, adding 1 rebound and 2 assists. We’re certainly missing the old Ben Gordon in Chicago, but I’m not missing the new Ben Gordon.

All Eyez On Me: New Orleans is kicking off an already tough Februrary against Phoenix. It’ll be interesting to see if other Hornets can step up to fill in for Chris Paul.

The Golden Ticket: Sacramento @ Denver should yield some very fantasy friendly stats.

i was able to score marcus thornton and darren collison. I dropped thaddeus young (finally), and robin lopez (enjoyed it while it lasted). Much more upside with these two.

It's amazing how irrelevant Richard Jefferson has become – that we can now just drop him.

    I know.

hope the above response was as funny as i tought it would be ;) .

so taj gibson is worth a look? the only droppable player I have is inverson….

To quote Terrance (above): I know.

I wouldn't drop Iverson for Taj, if that's the only option. But, I would definitely look at Taj as a relevant fantasy player… maybe you could swing a 2-for-1 trade-up trade and then pick up Taj?

yeah, jefferson has slowly been creeping towards this. hes the type of player that you can see a steady decline. he never created his own shot that well and relied on his athleticism more than his head…to me at least.

Thats why you see heady…yeah heady players like nash, kidd, rasheed wallace stick around..well wallace is big. Most of them have lost 1 or two steps but they know how to play the game.

But unlike those guys, Jefferson is only 29!

Maybe he got his birth certificate at the same place all those Dominican ballplayers do.
