Tommy Beer, Senior NBA Writer and Fantasy Basketball Editor for HOOPSWORLD, is hosting the latest edition of the fantasy basketball roundtable. This week’s topic:
Last week we discussed some general trade advice – this week, let’s get specific. So, we asked the roundtable: “With most fantasy league trade deadlines inching closer and closer, which player(s) will you be targeting to acquire as a ‘buy low?’ And/or is there someone you would suggest trading away because you view him as a ‘sell high’ candidate?”

I think there are a number of players that currently make good buy low candidates. Despite (or rather because of) his recent struggles I’d be trying to pry Kevin Martin away from fantasy owners. The trade rumors have died down on Martin and chances are that he remains a King for the rest of the season. Martin has struggled playing alongside Tyreke Evans since his return from injury, but the guy is not going to continue to shoot 38% from the field the rest of the season. Also, Mike Miller has been quietly playing well since his return from injury and currently sits at #76 on GMTR player rater on a per game basis. If Caron Butler gets shipped away from D.C., then Miller will see even more consistent minutes going forward. And finally, Tyrus Thomas is a guy who can probably be picked up off waivers in many leagues right now. If the Bulls trade him before the deadline, his fantasy value immediately returns.
Speaking of Caron Butler, he’s a guy you may want to consider selling high on, especially if we find out he’s heading to Dallas in a trade. In fact, any player headed to Dallas before the trade deadline (possibly Andre Iguodala) would likely see reduced minutes and fantasy value while trying to compete in a stacked Dallas rotation.
