Now there are clearly a couple different ways we could go with this… e.g., making fun of players by calling them actors (Manu Ginobili, I’m looking at you), but that seems a bit cheap, so I’m going to try to limit the number of easy jokes I make at the expensive of large egos. Instead, I am going to combine cheap’n'easy jokes, cute comparisons of current NBA All Stars with current Oscar nominations, and a couple other things that will take the Oscar analogy to a whole different level. Of course, whether that level is above or below the other level remains to be seen.

Finally, while Dwight Howard and Deron Williams gave fairly decent performances in their respective TNT commercials as Super Dwight and Dizzy Deron, they were basically playing themselves, so, even though they were with someone who was actually acting, they were ineligible for any awards.
