Miami Heat Coach Erik Spoelstra recently said what we’ve all generally expected – LeBron James is going to play some PG for the Heat and be responsible for a lot of the team’s ball handling, while Chris Bosh will see time at center, but not be the team’s primary center. It’s not a huge surprise since the team’s fourth best player (Mike Miller) is a shooting guard/small forward. I don’t think the Heat are expecting him to back up Wade and LeBron for 15 minutes a night.

One of the least exciting PG battles of all time: D.J. Augustin vs. Shaun Livingston. However, according to Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer, Augustin has been looking good at the position during team pickup games and may end up a better ball distributor than we think.

Given the state of Mike Bibby’s corpse, it’s no surprise that Joe Johnson is giving Jeff Teague pep talks. I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see Teague end the season as the Hawks starting point guard. Keep an eye on Teague and the Hawks’ point guard situation for fantasy purposes.

When, exactly, did Joe Dumars turn into Randy Jackson?

Fantasy team by team reviews are all the rage! Not only is GMTR doing a team-by-team fantasy rundown (our latest covers the Trail Blazers), but Fantasy Basketball Daily’s most recent team review looks at the Dallas Mavs, fBasketballBlog examines the Hornets, Damn Lies and Statistics breaks down the Utah Jazz, and Life is Just a Fantasy … Basketball Blog takes an in-depth look at the Los Angeles Clippers.

Does it piss anyone else off that Erick Dampier has a short list of teams he’s willing to sign with? Erick Dampier still gets that kind of treatment? Really?

And if you’ve looking for something to do, I highly suggest the NBA blog team previews, written by some of the best bloggers around the internet. The Atlantic Division is currently up, with more to come.

Hey guys, I just found this fantasy article that forecasts Chris Bosh’s stats this season. It suggests Bosh’s stats won’t fall too far. What do you guys think? http://3gotgame.com/kshiz/archives/342

Well, I don’t think that comparing Bosh going to Miami to KG going to Boston is really an accurate way to forecast Bosh’s stats. The obvious problem with the comparison is that Bosh is going to play with 2 of the best 5 players in the league right now. KG did not go to play with 2 Top 5 players when he joined Boston. In fact, he wasn’t even the 3rd best of Boston’s “Big Three” (Ray Allen was clearly going to have to sacrifice the most there). Bosh is clearly the 3rd wheel in Miami’s trio, so he’s more like Ray Allen if you want to make the Boston comparison. If you look at Allen’s numbers from Seattle to Boston, there’s a 30-40% drop across the board. I don’t think Bosh’s numbers will take that big a hit, but I think it’s a much more accurate comparison.
