The season is about to start, so I’m going to try to round up all the useful fantasy information I can find and include it in actual posts instead of just retweeting and posting to the Midnight Snacks (since about half of you apparently don’t even know about the Midnight Snacks).

Project Spurs: Tiago Splitter Injured. Marcus Cousin (not to be confused with DeMarcus Cousins) will see more preseason PT. Not sure the extent of the injury right now, so hard to say how this affects the rest of the Spurs going into the season, but maybe hold off on picking Splitter if you need him to fill a starting Center position.

Damn Lies & Statistics: Indiana Pacers Team Preview

The Hoop Doctors: Jason Williams out 4 weeks after knee surgery. It’s kind of insane that it only takes 4 weeks to recover from knee surgery these days.

Fantasy Basketball Blog: Team Analysis: Houston Rockets. And apparently, Jason has a lot more time than anyone at GMTR since he not only got that Team Analysis up, but also did a much lengthier version of my crunch time reporting with his NBA News Roundup Keanu Edition. Ah, to be in college again. Sweet, sweet college.

And finally, our own Erik Ong evidently does have some free time, but spends it writing posts for a Filipino cable station that appears to be their version of NBAtv. Does anyone else think it’s weird that Filipino is spelled with an F?

Thanks for the linkage! FYI, from the period of Spanish rule (yeah, we were a Spanish colony once) the philippines then was known as “las islas Filipinas,” translates to Islands of the Philippines, named after King Phillip II, and so the people were called as “Filipinos” and “Filipinas.”Then Americans came and said let’s call it The Philippines. So yeah, it’s “weird” due to English translation.

I understand that the Spanish would spell it that way (and I did know it was a Spanish colony, hence all the Filipinos with Latin surnames and my friend who went to Spain to see “all the things they took from my people”), but since English speakers spell the country “Philippines” (after the aforementioned King Philip II), then why don’t we call you blokes Philippinos? or Philipinos? I don’t know…

Haha! I wish I was back in college, too. I was in grad school when I started my blog, and now I am thrust back into the real world, so my time is a lot more scarce these days. Sweet, sweet college, indeed.

Keep up the great stuff, guys. And neat gig for Erik!
