Line of the Night: LeBron James (2.33) is who we thought he is. And by that I don’t mean a top fantasy pick who can 38 points in 3 quarters by shooting 15-25 from the field. No, I’m pretty sure he’s a guy who can get psyched up for the Championship of Northeastern Ohio but is pretty much okay with blaming his coach instead of himself when the team loses. And the Heat winning 60 of the next 62 games is about the only thing that could change my mind.

Honorable Mentions: LeBron’s sometimes sidekick, sometimes captain Dwyane Wade (1.66) had a near triple-double with 22 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 assists, with 3 steals, while going 10-16 from the field.

There were only two games last night (good planning, NBA schedulers!) so obviously the rest of lines are going to be dominated by the Heat and the Warriors with a sprinkling of Suns. Daniel Gibson was really the only one of the Cavs who didn’t completely embarrass himself.

Dorell Wright (1.55) was pretty close to a triple-double: 10 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists and 2 blocks. James Jones (1.53) continued to do Mike Miller’s job, scoring 18 points off of 5 threes and adding 6 rebounds. Monta Ellis (1.28) played all 48 minutes of the game against the Suns and ended the loss with 38 points, 7 assists and 3 threes.

Waiver Wire Line of the Night: With only two games, we have to get down to #12 on the night before we find Ramon Sessions and his 11 points and 7 assists. I didn’t watch the second half of that Heat game (oh no! I missed LeBron’s 24 points in the 3rd quarter!) but I imagine much of Sessions’ 22 minutes came when the Cavs realized that the Destroyer of Worlds Northeastern Ohio had come for vengeance.

Pick Up Lines: Honestly, it’s not even worth pointing out any other performances.

Biggest Loser: How much longer are owners in 69% of leagues going to continue hanging on to J.J. Hickson (-0.80)? If his 6 points and 4 rebounds weren’t enough to make you look elsewhere, what’s a guy gotta do?

On Tap: Dallas @ Utah is a game with two teams with good records. I wouldn’t make either of their players my top choice in a daily fantasy basketball betting type situation since they’re both fairly slow and play good defense. If you’re looking for that, how about the Clippers @ Denver. There’s some explosive potential there. Plus I kind of want to see every Blake Griffin highlight available.

Chicago @ Boston is another not-so-fantasy-friendly game, but it’s probably got the most emotion if you’re hoping to recreate some approximation of last night’s dazzling display of players getting hyped for a game.

The Golden Rule: They may be right by each other alphabetically, but the New York Knicks and the New Orleans Hornets are pretty far apart in Possessions Per Game (98 vs 90). Hopefully for fantasy owners, the Knicks style will prevail and Chris Paul will actually get some points to go with his assists.

What a surprise – another GMTR entry that takes not-so-subtle shots at the Heat. I guess it hasn’t gotten old for you all yet. Wonder if Nels was the guy that tried throwing the towel at Lebron. Dead serious question – are any of you guys Cavs fans or from the Ohio/midwest area?

      Hey guys,

What do you think about Josh McRoberts? Standard yahoo roto. I am desperate for another C. I have D. Howard and Glen Davis. I listened to rotoworld and dropped Frye exactly before he got hot! Other FA include B Wallace and Big Z, and Robin Lopez, haywood, nazr, d arthur. and of course Anthony Randolph. Slim Pickings! I know the stats can be picked up elsewhere but i am falling behind for C games played…

I think Nels was actually in the upper deck throwing batteries at LeBron. Fortunately, he throws like a computer programmer and didn’t come close to reaching him. No, none of us are from Ohio or are Cavs fans. I admit as an east coast guy and Celtics’ fan, I do take a certain amount of pleasure in watching the Heat’s struggles this year, because it gives me hope that the C’s could beat the Heat in a playoff series. I don’t personally hate LeBron like many people do and could care less about his decision to leave Cleveland for Miami. I think the way he’s handled just about every aspect of the transition – from his idiotic televised decision, to the what-should-I-do commercial, to the latest leaks from “sources” about how the Heat players are frustrated with Erik Spoelstra – have been a disaster and open him up for criticism. His actions to this point play like someone who thinks he’s above the rest of the league, his coach, and possibly even the other players on his team. As a result, a lot of people (including us) have been enjoying the Heat’s struggle so far this season because their win/loss record has fallen way short of LeBron’s ego. MJ showed that people will like (or at the very least respect) a narcissistic asshole as long as he’s winning championships. In the same way, James and the Heat will shut all of us up when they start winning. Well, at least those of us who aren’t Cavs fans.

Yeah, not a lot there. I’d rate them McRoberts, Arthur, Haywood, Wallace, Mohammed, Lopez (still a ways away from returning), Ilgauskas, Randolph. Although the only guy out of those I sort of like even a little is McRoberts who is at least consistently getting minutes and is a decent stopgap if you need games played at center. Does Jason Thompson happen to be available in your league? Paul Westphal has been fantasy cock-blocking everyone this year, but Thompson makes a nice add as long as he’s starting.

Ed Davis? Don’t know anything about him, but he got 24 min. for the Raptors the other night. Good enough to bump Linas K out of my last bench spot.

Westphal has given me such a headache this year, somehow right now I have Landry and Thompsons both on my team taking up valuable space. I find it hard to just drop Carl Landry, I’m trying to figure out who will be the true starter. I think Westphal is sabotaging fantasy teams on purpose. I had Udrih for awhile too, damn you PaulL!LL!!!!
