Day 78 of 170: Where The Lakers Go H.A.M.

Kobe must have been inspired by Kanye & Jay to go H.A.M., which doesn’t actually stand for Hold it Against Me, even though both singles were released the same day. H.A.M. stands for the way the Lakers played against the Cavs last night. Now, granted, the Cavs have three potential starters and one backup injured, but the Lakers only needed 2 more points to double their score. I feel I’m at least somewhat to blame since I had Mo Williams on my bench last week and after watching him get 7+ assists in each of his last 3 games, I put him back in my lineup. Thanks Mo.

Line of the Night: In other blow-out news, the Nuggets maybe let all the trade talk get to them a bit, letting Phoenix jump out to a 12 point lead before coming back to win by 34. Denver was led by Arron Afflalo‘s (2.77) 31 points (11-14 from the field, 7-7 from the line), 9 rebounds, and 2 blocks. I wonder if Steve Nash is wishing he was involved in the Carmelo trade.

Honorable Mentions: Nick Young (2.44) scored 43 points (7 threes, 14-22 from the field). Yeah, that’s what he does these days.

Waiver Wire Line of the Night: Ronny Turiaf (2.41) led the Knicks to a win in Portland (hooray for Adam) with 19 points (8-9 from the field), 10 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 blocks. Classic Ronny. Of course, he hasn’t been Classic Ronny for a while, so you probably want to wait another game or two before making him a part of your championship run. That said, who doesn’t want some of this?

Francisco Garcia (1.91) is still available in some leagues, and GMTR is never one to shy away from recommending him. Last night, Garcia put up 26 points (3 threes, 5-5 from the line) with 2 blocks.

Garcia’s teammate Omri Casspi (1.10) had 15 points (3 threes), 8 rebounds, and 2 steals. He only shot 33% from the field, but when you’re looking down the list from the night, he only came in at #22. I’m just trying to dig deep for you to find guys that might have any hint of value.

Speaking of scraping the barrel for value, Alonzo Gee (0.95) was about the only Cavalier to show up to the game last night. Gee had 12 points (which accounts for 22% of the Cavs scoring), 8 rebounds, 3 steals, and a block.

Biggest Loser: Easy choice. Like I said, I didn’t go with Mo last week, and now I’m paying for it. Mo Williams (-1.66) had 2 points, 1 rebounds, and 1 assist, while going 1-9 from the field and leading his team to a 55 point loss.
