Day 90 of 170: Nuthin’ but Nuggets

Line of the Night: Last night was all Denver, all the way. They manhandled the Pacers and won pretty convincingly, allowing the Nuggets to take advantage of yet another freebie Mel0-Showcase. Carmelo Anthony (1.65) torched Indiana for 36 points (6 threes) and 8 rebounds for the night.

Honorable Mentions:
It should come as no surprise that the honorable mentions from last night’s lone game was going to be composed of Nuggets. Big man, Nene Hilario (1.32) led Melo’s supporting cast with 15 points (7-11 from the field), 10 rebounds, and his  4 steals. Meanwhile Al Harrington (0.89), who has had an up-and-down fantasy season so far,  which can be themed as  predominantly disappointing, came off the bench to produce 16 points (7-11 from the field), 5 rebounds, and 4 assists.
The rest of the hon-mens are rounded out by Denver’s starting back-court tandem of Chauncey Billups (0.48) and  Arron Afflalo (0.42), who contributed 12 points, 6 assists and 9 points, 5 assists respectively. Afflalo injured his left hand in last night’s game, but X-rays came back negative. His shooting might suffer a tad in the short-term, but there doesn’t appear to be any reason to keep out of your lineups this week.

Waiver Wire Line of the Night: Paul George (0.82) started the second half in place of Mike Dunleavy and managed to finish with a career-high 17 points (7-10 from the field) and 2 steals. With the Pacers’ season pretty much headed down the crapper, George (2% owned) might just see some “developmental” increased playing time down the road. He’s still a bit raw to grab at this point. Wait for about a couple of more respectable games before clicking that “add” button. For now, keep a close eye on him.

Pick Up Lines: Tyler Hansbrough (0.63) may not have been the Victoria’s Secret model of consistency since winning the starting PF gig, but last night’s impressive performance made him that much sexier (once again). He finished with 27 points and 10 rebounds. He’s worth owning in deep leagues only. Owning him will come with some erratic frustration here and there.

If you need a boost in boards (and probably boards alone) then Jeff Foster (0.52) might just be the grab for you. He finished with  8 points (4-4 from the line )and 9 rebounds. He’s only owned in 4% of leagues, so he’s probably still out there in your deep league’s FA pool.

Biggest Loser:
Darren Collison (-1.09) has been a far cry from the Hornet-self his owners were hoping he would be in Indiana. For the most part of the 2010-2011 season, Collison has been marginally palatable (at best) and continues to deliver mind-bogglingly terrible games like his line last night which consisted of  5 points 1 rebounds 2 assists, while shooting 2-10 from the field.
