Injury of the Night: When you read “taken off the court on a stretcher” and “Chris Paul” in the same sentence; eerie, dark tentacles of panic wrestle with your mind as you struggle to accept that “only suffered a concussion” is  a good thing.

    overworked businessman

Yes it could have been a lot worse, and of course we’re all glad that it isn’t, but the bottom line is that the best point guard in the NBA (sorry Deron and Derrick) will have to probably miss a few games. That being said, Jarrett Jack who was already on a lot people’s radars prior to this unfortunate mishap, should be picked up immediately.

Line of the Night: While Patrick is off calling London the “New Phoenix,” James Harden (1.95) and his no-turnover performance against the Suns has us begging to differ. Phoenix (still) IS the new Phoenix. Where else can someone drop  26 points (8-12 from the field), 6 boards, 4 assists, and 2 steals and not even get harassed enough to commit a single turnover?

    Honorable Mentions:

Zach Randolph (1.48) led the Grizzlies in stunning the Mavericks via his his 27 points (10-13 from the field), 9 rebounds, 4 steals, and one block. Yeah, Z-Bo got D! Well at least last night he did.

While the Miami Heat are crying about their loss to Chicago Bulls, we in fantasy hoops land are still happily enjoying LeBron James (1.46) and the solo effort he was able to produce. Bron had an all-around good fantasy night with 26 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 steals. So LeBron. Yeah even the heartbreaking, tear-jerking loss part.

Amar’e Stoudemire (1.46) led the Knicks with 26 points (6-6 from the line), 7 rebounds, and 3 steals against the Atlanta Hawks. Once Chauncey Billups gets back in the lineup, which should be this weeek, New York looks like it has just enough t0 carve out a slot in the Eastern conference playoffs.

In other news, there was a rare vintage Vince Carter (1.44) sighting: 29 points (6 threes), 4 assists. It’s kind of  like Big Foot, Nessie, and polyester bell-bottom pants… You won’t see it too often. Unless of course you’re the type who attends those mysterious monster hunter conventions, then yes you might actually see  twinkie-stained, polyester bell-bottoms quite often.

Waiver Wire Line of the Night: Shawne Williams (1.21) 12 points (4 threes), 6 rebounds, 2 steals  (3% owned). As nice as that line might have looked, Williams has too little consistency logged in the books to merit a grab. He does however, present himself to be potentially useful add-drop, cycle material.

Pick Up Lines: The Sixers are sizzling and whatever is working for them as a team has also trickled down to its fantasy bottom-feeding players (well probably not Spencer Hawes just yet).  Evan Turner (1.16) had an impressive game with 20 points (9-15 from the field), 7 rebounds, 2 steals (38% owned)

Brendan Haywood (1.00) 5 points, 8 rebounds, 6 blocks (28% owned) should be owned and started while Tyson Chandler is out with an ankle sprain.

Jarrett Jack (0.95), as I already mentioned earlier as a must-own in the short-term performed excellently with 14 points (4-4 from the line), 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals as he played out the remainder of CP3′s minutes.  He’s only owned 31% of leagues and could still be lying around in your league’s FA pool, so go and check.

    Biggest Loser:
I don’t what has been up with Grant Hill (-1.00) lately, but he’s been erratic as hell lately! Hot then cold, hot then cold, what the…? Well last night he was on “cold mode” as he went for 0 points 5 rebounds 2 assists 4 turnovers 0-6 from the field! Ack!

Hey, I almost forgot about this blog. Love your writing. CP3 is having a pretty wack season man. I really hope we have not seen the best of him already.

Thanks man. That’s the best backhanded complement we’ve received all year :)

yeah, I agree with you about CP3. Let’s hope an off season of rest will help his knees get back to 100%.
