Line of the Night: Dwyane Wade (3.04) was Miami’s catalyst for a huge 118-85 win over Memphis. Wade finished with 28 points, 5 rebounds, 9 assists, 3 steals, and 5 blocks in the game. A quick look at Wade’s line this season show that despite averaging more minutes than last year, his stats have seen an across the board drop (with the exception of his rebounding, which is up). The biggest drop for Wade has come in assists, which have fallen from 6.5 last year to 4.5 this year. Overall though, Wade’s line is still good enough to put him at #12 on our player rater for the season.

Honorable Mentions: Not that we’re advocating for concussions, but Chris Paul (2.95) looked great in his return to the court after missing two games with 33 points, 7 rebounds, 15 assists, and 5 steals; J.R. Smith (2.31) led the Nuggets with 31 points (on 9-16 from three) as they beat down the Pistons 131-101; Ty Lawson (1.61) had 15 points, 11 assists, and 4 steals in the game; Dirk Nowitzki (1.74) scored 25 points, adding 10 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 blocks in a loss to the Lakers; and Big Al Jefferson (1.32) had 33 points and 18 rebounds in a loss to the Bulls. If this was NBA Jam, flames would be shooting out of Jefferson’s body right now.

Waiver Wire Line of the Night: Jeff Teague (1.89) finally had his breakout game. Unfortunately, it’s about 4 months late for anyone who expected him to be a sleeper this season. But with Marvin Williams clearly not working out in the starting lineup, the Hawks moved Joe Johnson to SF and started Teague alongside Kirk Hinrich. It worked for Teague, who scored 24 points (on 11-17 shooting), adding 5 steals and 3 blocks. It also worked for the Hawks, who won the game after losing four straight. While this game probably represents a high point for Teague this season, he should be worth an add as long as he stays in the starting lineup (which is likely given that his competition is Marvin Williams).

Pick Up Lines: Former Hawk Mike Bibby (1.66) scored 17 points, with 5 threes and 4 assists for the Heat. However, he’s only averaging 6 points and less than 2 assists a game since joining the team, and should be avoided just like he was on the Hawks.

The Bucks must really like to be careful with concussions. After Carlos Delfino missed about 2 months with a head injury, Ersan Ilyasova has been out since the end of February with one. Luc Mbah a Moute (1.64) has been starting at PF in his place, and his latest line included 14 points, 12 rebounds, and 5 steals against the Sixers. Moute is inconsistent, but he’s available in 96% of Yahoo leagues and makes a good add in deeper leagues while Ilyasova is out if you need some rebounding/block numbers.

Another good game for Courtney Lee (0.54), who had 16 points, 7 boards and a couple steals in 32 minutes on the court for the Rockets. With the exception of one bad game on the 8th, Lee has been solid lately and is worth taking a look at in most leagues as a do a little bit of everything type player.

Damien Wilkins (0.38) was a surprise off the bench for the Hawks, scoring 12 points off 6-9 shooting in 26 minutes. He could also be in for an increased role on the team at the expense of Williams. Keep an eye on him in deep leagues.

And Raja Bell (1.16) scored 14 points with 8 rebounds for the Jazz. He’s been… um, getting a lot of minutes for the Jazz.

    Ok, let’s move on.

Biggest Loser: Everything that Teague was on the court last night for the Hawks, Kirk Hinrich (-1.03) was the opposite of. Hinrich finished with 0 points, 2 rebounds and 0 assists in only 16 minutes on the court.

Jrue Holiday (-0.87) had 6 points, 2 assists and 6 turnovers as the Sixers got blown out by the worst offensive team in the league, the Milwaukee Bucks. Holiday has been playing well lately and should bounce back in the Sixers next game.

Ramon Sessions is giving me a headache. Our league’s (daily roster) playoff is started, so I cannot have time to wait for Sessions to be better or B-Davies to get injured. I know that Jeff Teague is very inconsistent. However, there are some rumors that he will be a starter for the rest of this season, is this true? Should I drop Sessions (he has three games next week) for Teague (four games next week)?

Here are the other free players that I am thinking of: Ric Hamilton, Rudy Ferdnandez, Taj Gibson, J R Smith, Nenad Krstic, Jodie Meeks, Mbah a Moute, Darko Milicic, Darell Arthur, James Johnson, Shane Battier, Ed Davies, and Ron Artest.

      Thanks!

P.S. I have Randy Foye and Eric Gordon. If Eric Gordon comes back, I think I should drop Foye for a good free agent

Baron Davis is away from the Cavs until March 19 (Saturday) due to the death of his grandmother. So in a daily changes league, this is what I’d do. I’d keep Sessions right now and play him for the Cavs games on Wednesday and Thursday. Then I’d think about dumping him for Teague if he’s available and still playing well. That way you get two games out of a Davis-free Sessions and two games from Teague (if he’s still a starter).

If he’s not, I also like Meeks and Krstic. Both have games on Friday and Saturday, so you can still squeeze in 4 games. Rip might also be a decent pickup if you’re in need of points and he’s got games on Friday and Sunday. At this point in the season, I’d think very short term about my free agents and try to max my games played.

It sounds like Teague the starter was an experiment for the Hawks. It could continue (especially since the Hawks won the game) but I wouldn’t necessarily count on it.

Yes, IF Gordon comes back (and I think that’s a big if), I’d drop Foye. Although make sure that Gordon can make it though a game first without injuring himself again.

Since Patrick already hooked up you logistics-wise, let me just take a moment to share in your disappointment/frustration with Sessions. I basically had to start him in one of my leagues this week, and that’s not a good thing. Good luck to you!
